Midweek = More Airtime at Rush
Weekends at Rush are big energy: friends arriving in packs, foam pits flying, dodgeball games getting competitive and everyone trying to nail just one more slam dunk.
But midweek? That is when you get more room to run, jump, climb and send it. Especially on Wednesdays, if you take advantage of our Wednesday Special.
During the school term, a weekday visit to Rush is the ideal way to get the kids moving, shake off the midweek slump and swap screen time for serious airtime. With fewer weekend crowds, there is more space to explore the park, practise new moves and tackle favourite challenges at your own pace.
Rush is open during term time from Tuesday to Thursday, 11am to 7pm, with weekend hours extending from Friday to Sunday.
Escape the Midweek Slump
By Wednesday, everyone is feeling it. The school routine is in full swing, homework is waiting, energy is building up and the phrase “I’m bored” starts making a regular appearance.
A visit to Rush is not your average outing. It is a chance to get off the couch and into the action.
The main court is built for big bounces, creative moves and all-out jumping. Connected trampolines and tumbling lanes give jumpers plenty of space to bounce, practise and test their skills, while angled trampoline walls add another level to the challenge.
Then there is the rest of the Rush playground:
- Foam pits: Launch from the trampoline lanes or diving board and land in a mountain of soft foam
- Dodgeball: Duck, dive, jump and throw your way through an airborne team showdown
- Slam dunk: Use the trampoline boost to put some serious height behind your basketball skills
- Climbing walls: Take on vertical challenges and race your friends to the top
- Battle beam: Grab a padded baton and find out who can hold their balance the longest
- Air Walk: Bounce higher, test your confidence and take your trampoline skills up a level
At the Rush Claremont, jumpers can also tackle the Ninja Warrior course: a four-lane obstacle challenge involving climbing, hanging, swinging and scrambling, with an inflatable airbag below for a soft landing.
The Ninja Warrior course has a 1.3m height requirement, although smaller participants may be allowed to try it during quiet times under trained-team supervision.
Why Weekday Visits Work
Midweek Rush sessions fit brilliantly into real-life family schedules. You can plan a visit after school, turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure or make it the reward for surviving a packed week of tests, traffic and to-do lists.
For younger jumpers, an earlier, quieter session can be a great introduction to the park. Rush’s dedicated Toddler Time is designed for children aged four and under, with an accompanying adult required to join them. Older siblings are welcome during these sessions too, making it easier for families to enjoy the park together.
For older kids and teens, it is a brilliant way to burn off the energy that tends to appear right when homework needs to begin. An hour of jumping, dodging, climbing and challenging friends can make the move from school mode to home mode a whole lot easier.
And for adults? It is the perfect reminder that Rush is not only for the kids. Get involved, challenge your child to dodgeball, see if you still have a slam dunk in you or make a beeline for the foam pit. You might be surprised by how much you enjoy it.
More Space for Big Moves
The best part of a quieter session is that there is room to build confidence.
First visit? Start with a few bounces on the main court, test your balance on the battle beam or try a gentle jump into the foam pit. Once the nerves disappear, it is time to level up.
Set yourself a Rush challenge:
- Land your first foam-pit jump without losing a sock
- Beat your friend in a battle-beam showdown
- Score a slam dunk
- Survive a full dodgeball round
- Reach the top of a climbing wall
- Try a new skill on the trampolines
- Complete a Ninja Warrior lane in Cape Town
Rush is built for every type of jumper — first-timers, fearless little adventurers, teens with endless energy and adults who are quietly convinced they can still do a backflip.
If you are keen to learn the right way, Rush also offers Flip Out trampoline and gymnastics coaching in Cape Town, with one-on-one and structured classes focused on movement skills, coordination and development.
Make Wednesday a Rush Day
There is something satisfying about having one fun thing locked into the family calendar. Maybe it is a Tuesday afternoon jump after school. Maybe it is a midweek meet-up with friends. Maybe it is the one day of the week when everyone gets to leave their screens behind and bounce out the stress.
Make it your family’s Rush ritual:
- Pack your socks and water bottles
- Book your jump time
- Bring a friend, sibling or whole crew
- Pick your first challenge before you arrive
- Leave with tired legs, big smiles and at least one story about an epic foam-pit fail
Midweek does not have to feel like the long stretch between weekends. At Rush, it can be the best part of the week, especially if you take advantage of our Wednesday Special.
