Halloween: Jump For Your Lives
Enter the Outbreak This Halloween
The lights dim. Fog begins to roll across the park. Warning signs flicker on the walls. The usual sound of laughter is joined by eerie music, strange shadows and a siren that cuts through the dark.
Then the zombies are released.
This Halloween, Rush Claremont is inviting tweens and teens to step into Jump For Your Lives, an after-dark Halloween party where the mission is simple: jump, dodge, protect your tags and survive the outbreak.
Taking place on Saturday, 31 October, from 6pm to 8pm, Jump For Your Lives brings creepy atmosphere, UV glow, movie-style zombies and fast-moving action to Rush Claremont. Tickets are R210 per person, and numbers are limited.
This is not a quiet costume event. It is a Halloween party built for older kids who want to do more than take a photo and eat sweets. It is a chance to dress up, bring a squad, get active and see whether they can keep their cool when the siren sounds.
The Outbreak Begins
From the moment jumpers arrive, Rush Claremont will feel different.
The familiar indoor park will be transformed into a dark and mysterious Halloween outbreak zone. Zombie Zone signs will point the way. Warning graphics will hint at the danger ahead. UV tape, silhouettes, outbreak visuals and fog will turn familiar spaces into a creepy after-dark playground.
The lights will go low. The glow details will shine. The music will build the tension.
Friends will have time to take in the Halloween setting, check out the spooky photo areas and plan their survival strategy. But they will need to stay alert. At any moment, the first siren could sound.
When it does, the outbreak begins…
Jump, Dodge, Survive
Every Jump For Your Lives guest starts the night with three survival tags.
Keep them safe. Every tag that survives the event earns a free return jump. That means the more tags your teen protects, the more they win.
Zombies will be released into the park every 20 minutes. The siren will warn jumpers that the chase is about to start. Then, for five minutes, the park becomes a full-speed survival zone.
Jumpers will need to bounce, dodge, duck and move quickly as zombies hunt through the park. Staying still is not an option. Fast feet help. Smart moves help. Working together with friends may help even more.
For some, the plan will be to move fast and stay ahead. For others, it will be to stick with the squad and watch each other’s backs. Either way, every round brings new stories, close calls and plenty of adrenaline.
When the second siren sounds, the zombies retreat. The park gets a moment to breathe. Friends can compare survival stories, count the tags they still have and prepare for the next round.
Then the suspense starts again.
The zombie experience is designed to feel scary and exciting, without being graphic.
Professional makeup, prosthetics, sound, lighting and character performances create a believable Halloween atmosphere. It is creepy enough to make hearts race, but designed for teens to enjoy as part of an active party experience.
Bring Your Survivor Squad
Jump For Your Lives is better with friends.
Encourage your teen to round up their crew and arrive with a plan. Choose a team name. Decide who is the lookout, who is the speedster and who might panic when the zombies arrive. Every squad will have a different strategy, but only the boldest will keep their tags.
Halloween costumes are encouraged. Come as zombie hunters, creatures from another world, a horror-film squad or something completely original. The more creative the look, the better.
There will be prizes for:
- Best Dressed, for the creepiest, cleverest or most creative Halloween costume.
- Best Survivor Squad, for the team that brings the best energy, teamwork and Halloween spirit.
At the end of the night there will be a photo op with our zombies. This is to humanise them and the kids love taking pics with them.
Just make sure costumes are comfortable and safe for jumping, running and dodging. Clothes that allow easy movement are always a smart choice when survival is on the schedule.
