Rush Team Building: Less Planning, More Playing

In this blog we will dive into why team building is so important and why it needs to change in structure. We furthermore look at how Rush can create the best team building experience for your next staff wellness outing.

The way we work has shifted dramatically since 2020. With work life balance seemingly non existent and remote work increasing, employee engagement has dropped globally by 56% according to the State of the workplace report. Workers are overall feeling more disconnected and isolated from their working environment and other staff members. This means that the way in which companies are changing their wellness culture and team building needs to evolve too.

The importance that team building has on an organisation

The importance of team building lies in its ability to transform a group of individual contributors into a cohesive, high-performing unit by establishing psychological safety and communication.

According to landmark research like Google’s “Project Aristotle” and MIT’s Human Dynamics studies, the most successful teams aren’t necessarily those with the highest individual IQs, but those with the strongest bonds. By fostering trust and clarity, team building reduces the friction of misunderstandings, boosts employee engagement- which Gallup links to a 23% increase in profitability– and creates a resilient culture capable of navigating high-stress environments and hybrid work challenges.

The Rush way of getting your team involved

Enter Rush Team Building: the easiest way to plan and experience a breakthrough with your staff. The process of booking here is as simple as clocking in. The structure of our team building:

Once booked, you will arrive for your session where a court monitor will lead you through a 45-minute structured team-building experience.

We offer a dedicated private room for your team-building event, which acts central hub for your group. We have got TV screens and high speed wifi, if you would like to have a pre or post jump resignation, grab a bite to eat or simply chat with your fellow coworkers. To keep the energy up, you can choose from our variety of catering platters and refreshments—explore our full menu here

Pro Tip: Bring comfortable, breathable clothing

Activities you can expect at your team bonding session

  • Main Court: A 10-minute warm-up to get the blood pumping! Our court monitors will review the basic techniques of using a trampoline safely.
  • Extreme Dodgeball: Time to release some of those work grievances in the form of dodgeball! Just kidding (sort of). In any successful organisation, communication and strategy are key to any venture. Not only will your hand-eye coordination be tested, but the true colours of your team may show—who knew the shy IT technician could throw a ball like a pro?
  • Foam Pit Tag and Race: This is where the competitive side of your team will shine. Race through the foam pit to win for your group! Team spirit really comes to the forefront during this challenge.
  • Rock Climbing: Your inner child will come out- after all, aren’t we all just trying to climb to that higher branch before the “big kids” get to it? Strap on your harness and race to the top; the fastest team wins!
  • Ninja Relay: Everyone will see what it’s like to be a total ninja! The fastest time through the course will score points for the team.*
  • Free Jump: The session concludes with a free jump. This is a time to socialise and not think about “to-do” lists, but rather just be present with your team at our indoor play park.

*Activities may differ across parks
